Tom McRae and the Artistes of Hotel Cafe / 2008 UK Tour
Already a shoe-in for me for gig of 2008, Tom McRae has announced that he’s bringing the artistes of Hotel Cafe to the UK once again in April. The Essex singer-songwriter did it in 2006, and is coming back to play bigger venues, more dates, with more stars from the legendary Los Angeles venue. Catherine Feeny, Brian Wright, Jim Bianco, Cary Brothers, and Greg Laswell are all playing the shows, along with the usual cast of “extras”, special guests and big name stars.
Tickets are on sale now, priced at £15 each. There are two London shows, but at the moment the second one hasn’t been put on sale yet, and I’m not sure when it will be. Catch me down the front at the first London date.

the Glasgow and Edinburgh dates listed above aren’t right. Edinburgh is 24th and Glasgow is 25th.

Tickets for Hotel Cafe 17th May still don’t seem to be on sale…gaaaargh! Does this gig really exist? The King’s College site don’t answer the phone or reply to their e-mails. Double gaaaargh!

Apparently the second London date isn’t happening now – from the Tom McRae message board (http://www.tommcrae.com/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?t=10007) :
“Apologies to all, the second London show will not now take place due to a clash of schedules of some of the artists on the bill. We had looked into ways of making it work, but in the end it was just not possible. Look out for Tom’s Songs From The Canyon shows in Brighton on 25th and 26th May – featuring Catherine Feeny, Brian Wright, Kathryn Williams and Colin from Mull Historical Society among others…., and for Cary Brothers’ own show at The Water Rats in London on May 19th. Sorry again for the disappointment.”
