Bands to Watch #51: Fox Cubs

Formed in July of 2007, Fox Cubs are a five-piece band hailing from Berkshire. Their ambient, and often epic indie is beautifully finished with disco synths that has seen the band go from strength to strength since their summer formation. 2008 has been a good year for the Fox Cubs – they’ve bagged slots at Glasto, Reading and even a spot at the prestigious BBC Electric Proms. Sessions were recorded for Radio One and XFM and stages were shared with The Metros and One Night Only. Raw and energetic, Fox Cubs have been compared to many from The Killers, to The Editors – while the band themselves cite The Arcade Fire and Echo and The Bunneymen as just two of their personal influences.
Check out their MySpace – hear how frontman Tim Baggott’s mighty vocals pound out of the speakers and really grab you. The vibrancy of tracks of such as You Never Learn and This is Only the Start combined with the edgier, almost emo-tinted tunes such as Beasts of England prove the variety this band have to offer.
The awesome Fox Cubs are certainly ones to look out for next year.
