Single Review: Esser – Work It Out

Esser (side)We first introduced you to Esser‘s rhythmic beats last November via our review of his sunny single, ‘Satisfied’. Tomorrow sees the return of this super-cool Essex lad as he releases yet another electro-pop gem in the form of imminent dancefloor hit, ‘Work it Out’.

Although I’ve grown to dislike most artists who opt to sing in a ridiculously fake cockney accent, Esser’s sweetly simple lyrics about love, heartbreak and in this case, working it back out – means he effortlessly gets away with such a cheeky singing styleé. “I have a habit of getting my foot stuck in my mouth. You are the only person I know that can help me get it out.” Esser innocently announces to the backing of his space age synths and drum machined beat. The electronica repetition that is the stupidly catchy chorus may mean you feel inclined to break out into the robot. Don’t worry – this is perfectly normal behaviour when listening to this electro-pop genius. Check out the appropriately space-age video to Esser’s latest track, below!

‘Work it Out’ is released tomorrow (February 23rd) via digital download. You can also catch Esser on tour throughout April.
