Video of the Day #7: The Doves – Kingdom of Rust

By on Thursday, 19th February 2009 at 6:00 pm

You may have spotted floating around The Doves‘ new video for forthcoming single, Kingdom of Rust.

From the press release…

In ‘Kingdom Of Rust’ Doves have created a Lancastrian Spaghetti Western in song form that is overflowing with the kind of drama that Sergio Leone would certainly approve of. Indeed, imagine, if you can, that Ennio Morricone was born and raised in Manchester on a diet of the Factory Recordings output, big nights out, and long mornings after. Add in an obsession with the distinctive, and sometimes harsh, unforgiving North West landscape, and then imagine that he’d been blessed with one of the most brooding-emotive voices in popular song… ‘Kingdom Of Rust’ is probably what this would sound like.
