WIN: Metro Station Prizes

Metro Station (side)You know that here at TGTF we only talk about stuff we love, even if it’s really not the coolest thing ever. One band that’s been catching our ears for a while is the amazing Metro Station, one of those bands that you probably know having heard the amazing “Shake Shake” on the radio recently but haven’t become that familiar with.

Having met on the set of Hannah Montana (as all cool kids do), Trace Cyrus, older brother of the show’s star Miley Cyrus, and Mason Musso, older brother of Mitchel Musso from the show, decided to form a band together, and this brilliant Disney-fied power pop is the result. That’s not to dismiss it off-hand – it’s solid stuff, not everyone’s taste, but great power-pop stuff that will have you dancing in your seat. If you love Good Charlotte, McFly, or Busted (back in the day), you’ll surely love Metro Station.

Whilst “Shake Shake” may well be their biggest song, they’re by no means a one hit wonder. All the tracks on their debut album (out on Monday) are amazing, each having the ability to appear on both the OC (if it was still going) and High School Musical (eurgh), such is the cross-over sound of them. You can just imagine “Control” being a live highlight – chaotic, loud and slightly crazy – you can imagine McFly are quivering in their boots at the challenge these US sugary sweet kids are offering their fans.

We would offer you a shiny video of “Shake Shake”, apparently one of YouTube’s most popular videos, however due to the fun Google and the PRS are having, it’s currently not viewable in the UK unfortunately. So, just pop on over to their myspace to catch up with them.

We’re offering one of you lucky, lucky people the chance to win a Metro Station goodie bag with a t shirt, sunglasses and a CD. Yes, just for you. All you need to do is give us your name and email and one good reason why we should choose you over everyone else… the winner will be the best reason as judged by us, picked out of the hat next Thursday afternoon (2nd April). Please note, sadly you must be in the UK to enter and have a chance to win.

So what are you waiting for? Enter away…

Please note that this competition is now closed – the winner will be contacted shortly
