In the Post #10: Daniel Merriweather – Love & War

Possibly one of the biggest selling albums of the summer, Daniel Merriweather‘s Love & War is the sort of thing that I think will replace the gap left by Robbie Williams and the like. Having appeared on Mark Ronson’s smash hit “Stop Me” last year, this Australian has created a rollercoaster of an album – from the fast paced, uplifting Radio friendly hits (“Change” and “Could You”) to the slower, thoughtful stuff (“Cigarettes” and “Red”), there really is something for everyone.

Produced by Mark Ronson, expect the smooth production you’ve come to expect from all of his albums, along with some more quality tunes. It’s got a heart the size of Australia, so expect legions of girls to love it, and their boyfriends to secretly love it just as much. It’s accessible, and will ring true with so many people – expect to see Daniel everywhere this summer.

Daniel Merriweather has come a long way from busking on street corners in Melbourne, and this album shows just how hard he’s worked for it – he deserves every ounce of success he gets over the coming months. There’s not much else that I can say. It’s a perfect summer album, and if you’ve liked either singles “Red” or “Change”, you’ll love this. Make sure you get it (or at least listen to it on Spotify or We7 when it’s released).

Daniel Merriweather‘s debut album, Love & War is released on Monday 1st June, with the new single, Red, out on Monday (18th May). Pre-order the album now.
