Bands to Watch #118: White Belt Yellow Tag

Sounding like a cross between Biffy Clyro, Doves, The Joy Formidable (who they’ve supported recently) and My Bloody Valentine, White Belt Yellow Tag look set to be a quality duo with tunes and credibility to boot.
Masters of the quiet / loud / quiet / loud format of song, the duo is made up of Justin from Yourcodenameis:Milo and Tom from The Cooper Temple Clause. They began writing just over a year ago after meeting in a studio in Newcastle, where Lockey had steadily been building a considerable reputation as a producer, working on singles and demos for the likes of Late of the Pier, Get Cape Wear Cape Fly, White Lies, and Enter Shikari among others. Pilbin had a bunch of songs he wanted to try out with Lockey, yet it soon became apparent that theirs wasn’t a standard producer / writer relationship as both began contributing in equal measure.
Take a listen on their Myspace, watch the video below of their previous single, “You’re Not Invincible” and let it just wash over you – you won’t regret it.
