Review: Loyal Trooper – The Doctor

Over the past few weeks I’ve written a lot about Loyal Trooper here at TGTF. Andy Walker is an incredibly talented guy who just seems to have a way with words and determination that if all is right with this world should get him places.
His forthcoming single, The Doctor, is out tomorrow (Monday 8th June). It’s a sad story of a difficult friendship, and one that is possibly his saddest song yet. It could easily soundtrack a break up montage in your favourite rom-com, with lyrics full of guilt following Andy “from the bar to the club and home to sleep”. Certainly not one to listen to when you’re feeling a bit down, but that’s not to mean it’s bad, oh no. A bit like R.E.M.’s “Everybody Hurts”, it has moments you have to admire the beauty of it.
