Bands To Watch #125: Cosmo Jarvis

In these dark, recession busting times, we all need something to cheer us up a bit. 19 year old Cosmo Jarvis – born in New Jersey, raised in Devon – is here to do just that, lighting up our credit-crunched lives with his humorous musical ditties about Jessica Alba and Britney Spears.
Ok, ok, as you’ve probably guessed, his music is nothing mind blowing – but it’s cheerful and it’s bright, and really, what’s so wrong with that? Strumming sunnily upon his acoustic, Jarvis’ lyrics are packed full of teenage hormones with an added splash of geniusly cheeky comedy.
I first fell in love with Cosmo after a friend recommended I check out his latest track, ‘She’s Got You’ – a summery number coming complete with ukuleles and recorders (I know, awesome right?). A desperate plea from a guy who has lost his best mate to their new girlfriend, Cosmo sings “We were brothers, and, there were no others man, I told you, that all this would happen!”. The poppy little gem of a chorus is a delight, and I guarantee you’ll be singing the hook of “When will you just learn she’s got yo-oo-oou, wrapped round her little finger!” for days on end. So why not check out the brilliant video to the super ‘She’s Got You’, below:
