Video of the Moment #240: Arctic Monkeys

The new video for ‘My Propeller’ is a bit boring as Arctic Monkeys videos go – there are no fighting clowns (‘Flourescent Adolescent’) or sea voyages (‘Crying Lightning’). Nor does it have the brilliant simplicity of their video for ‘Cornerstone’. But then again I’ve always been a sucker for Richard Ayoade’s videos, especially the ones he did for lead Monkey Alex Turner’s side project, the Last Shadow Puppets. Nevertheless, this slightly psychedelic grayscale video directed by Thirty Two does a pretty good job of capturing the mood of the dark, lurching song, while not distracting from it with anything too crazy. Enjoy!
