Single Review: Miles Kane – Inhaler

Miles Kane, who is looking a lot like a young Paul McCartney these days, is about to release a new single, ‘Inhaler’, on 22 November via Columbia Records. Thanks to his nice PR people, I’ve had a listen to it already, and you can listen to it yourself below. Wow. It reminds me of great psychedelic, guitar-driven rock of the ’60s, which makes sense considering Kane himself has described what he has recorded of his forthcoming debut album (purported to be released sometime early next year) as “…quite John Lennon-y and not just acoustic, most of its, quite hard.” Amazing groove. I can see Kane moonwalking all over the stage while this song is going. Uh…is that even going to be possible? Not sure. Maybe some of you will see him on tour in November and December and can report back to us on this point.
‘Inhaler”s B-side will be a cover of American country popster Lee Hazlewood’s hit ‘Rainbow Woman’. Rather interesting choice to foist upon the record buying public, I think.
7.5/10
‘Inhaler’ will be released in digital download and limited 7″ format. Miles Kane will be touring the UK in November and December, including a stint as support for the Courteeners.
