MP3 of the Day #265: Deadwax

I don’t know what’s up with my ears lately. Maybe it’s the cold weather and the darker days, but my musical tastes have run much darker lately. (I can’t get that Miles Kane single out of my head, for example.)

Enter Deadwax, a London band who deserves your attention. They just released their debut EP last week, and as a taster, they are offering up the track ‘The Rider’ as a free download. I’m a big fan of the down and dirty intro to this song, which then leads to singer Richard Power’s voice with all the attitude of great ’70s bands. Then there are the crashing guitars, especially near the end where a killer guitar solo awaits you.
