(Holiday) Video of the Moment #356: Coldplay

By on Monday, 6th December 2010 at 10:00 am

Stadium piano rockers Coldplay have been off the musical radar for a while. Their last album, ‘Viva la Vida or Death and All His Friends’, was released in June 2008, if you can believe it. (Time sure flies, doesn’t it?) But a new album is purported to be on the way in the new year. According to an article last New Year’s in the Times, the band are again working with Brian Eno.

In the meantime, you can enjoy the promo video for their sentimental entry to this year’s holiday music market, ‘Christmas Lights’, below. Primary school production values? Yup. Elvises playing violins? Yup. “Still waiting for the snow to fall / doesn’t feel like Christmas at all…” Hmmm. I guess Chris Martin isn’t clairvoyant, when it comes to December 2010 in the UK at least. The crowning touch? It ends with a beautiful evening shot of one of my most favourite cities in the world.
