10 for 2012: #10 – Morning Parade

In the last couple weeks, we asked you to vote for the top 10 artists you thought would be big in 2012. Coming in at #10 is Harlow indie rock band Morning Parade.

Heralding from Essex and having signed one of the biggest contracts in recent memory with Parlophone, Morning Parade open up this year’s 10 for 2012 with around four years of experience under their belts. Having avoided earlier offers of contracts, MP had, up until half way through last year, managed to keep a relatively low profile whilst amassing a steady and dedicated fanbase.

Releasing their debut single proper ‘Under the Stars’ last October, the band have steadily progressed towards their debut album which finally lands in March. TGTF has seen them through this progression from a series of high profile support slots for the likes of the Kooks and the Wombats (first supporting the Airborne Toxic Event for HMV’s Next Big Thing Festival, review here) through to their triumphant and potentially breakthrough show at London’s Scala (review here). The lads’ live shows really demonstrate the support that their fans give to them and the gratefulness of the group in return as well as being electric sets of material both new and less-new. Now almost ready for the big reveal of their record, you’ve voted Morning Parade as one of our ten to watch for the next 12 months.

Their latest single ‘Us & Ourselves’ is probably their most defining track to date, demonstrating their huge ambitions as a group. Enjoy.
