Preview: Chazzstock
Chazzstock is a brand new festival with a great cause behind it. As a non-profit festival which is organised in memory of Charles (Chazz) Haddon, the frontman of Ou Est Le Swimming Pool, hence the festival’s name. All of the festival’s profits will go to a charity, The Prince’s Trust. It is also his family and friends’ effort to put together a festival of Charles’ own, as it was his dream to put on something like this
Chazzstock will take place at Wolverhampton Civic Hall on Sunday the 10th of June 2012. A special thing about the festival is that there will be big acts such as the Vaccines, the Horrors (pictured at top) and Tribes (who were great friends with Charles) sharing the stage with more local and relatively unknown bands. Chazzstock Festival also aims to promote some up-and-coming talents. It is a shame that the festival had to shorten its length from a 2-day event to a 1-day one, but I’m sure the amendment won’t minimise the festival’s awesomeness.
Besides the three big names, other great bands on the line-up include like I Dream in Colour, Safari and more. The festival is also open to young folks, with an age limit of only 14+. Tickets are £25 each and can be purchased here. For more information, please visit Chazzstock’s official site.
After the cut: the current line-up as of 4 May (according to the red banner on the top of the page).
