Video of the Moment #946: Villagers

I am very curious to hear what people’s opinions are on the new Villagers track ‘The Waves’. While vocally and lyrically there is no mistaking it is Conor J. O’Brien, there is a borderline offensive beat underlying everything, like it’s been produced by Calvin Harris. The video also, at least at the beginning, looks like this one from Delphic, which is kind of funny, given it’s like Villagers have decided to incorporate Friendly Fires-esque beats. I am all for bands wanting to stretch their artistic wings, but this is just odd, no? Have at it in the comments.
