Video of the Moment #990: Splashh

By on Sunday, 30th September 2012 at 6:00 pm

Call me jaded, but Splashh‘s new video for ‘Vacation’ (out on 7″ and digital formats on the 5th of November on Luv Luv Luv Records) looks like all the other ones we’ve posted lately that are revelling in carefree summer days. Not much thought put into these videos, eh?

Video of the Moment #989: Theme Park

By on Sunday, 30th September 2012 at 10:00 am

Theme Park‘s new single ‘Two Hours’ will be released on the 12th of November. Evidently, judging from the comments the promo video for the song has already garnered, they fan sourced extras for the video. Watch it below.

You can see them supporting Bloc Party on their UK tour in October.

Video of the Moment #988: Grizzly Bear

By on Saturday, 29th September 2012 at 6:00 pm

Grizzly Bear‘s new album ‘Shields’ is out now, and here is the promo vid for ‘Yet Again’ off it. Like Passion Pit‘s video for ‘Take a Walk’, this dark and overcast video was created with help from the Creator’s Project. Watch it below.

Video of the Moment #987: Dum Dum Girls

By on Saturday, 29th September 2012 at 10:00 am

I’m sure you’re wondering just like me when the Dum Dum Girls will get out of their black and white video phase. Keep pondering this as you watch their new video for ‘Lord Knows’ (off their new EP ‘Teen Daze’) below.

Video of the Moment #986: Calvin Harris

By on Friday, 28th September 2012 at 6:00 pm

Calvin Harris is releasing this new single, ‘Sweet Nothing’, on the 14th of October. What will be quickly noted here is Florence Welch is providing vocals. But what’s far weirder is the music video, in which Flo is in drag, singing in a gentlemen’s club.

But this doesn’t last; I ask, do we really need to see Flo in her underwear, writhing on the floor. And then there are the words. I know what they’re supposed to be, but it sounds like “I’m living on a sexy elephant!” (Geez, just enunciate!) I’ll leave you to your Friday evening then…
