MP3 of the Day #778: Wild Combination

Wild Combination released an EP in earlier this month called ‘Pulses’ on Sweet Release Records. Now the band are offering up a free download of a new song, ‘Goodbye Drive’, on their official Web site in exchange for your address.

BBC 6music presenter had nothing but praise for the Chelmsford band when I interviewed him in May at this year’s Liverpool Sound City. And it’s easy to see…er…hear why in ‘Goodbye Drive’: there is a sultriness to the vocals, but there’s also shimmery synths matched up with a grunge-y guitar. It shouldn’t work, but somehow it does.
