10 for 2014: vote for the bands you think will take the world by storm next year!
As 2013 winds down to a close, we look to next year and want to ask you, our devoted readers, who do you think will be the Next Big Thing in music?
Ask yourself how often you’ve been asked a question like this. We’re not asking so-and-so from the BBC or a broadsheet newspaper. No, we’re taking this grassroots, and we want to know from you who are the bands we need to keep on our radar. Is it a new band you’ve just discovered who you think is destined for great things? Or maybe it’s a singer you’ve loved for a while who hasn’t become massive yet and you think 2014 is his/her year. We want your opinions.
The choice is yours: in the form at the end of this post, you can nominate up to five artists, and the 10 artists who receive the most votes in our poll will place in the overall top 10 for 2014. Each act you nominate will be given equal weighting, and all entries are completely anonymous. Enter up to five artists on the form – you can also as few as one if you so want.
Just to give you some idea of the power of popular opinion, here’s a rundown of our previous winners from when we started this poll in 2010:
