MP3 of the Day #861: Atom Tree

By on Monday, 3rd November 2014 at 10:00 am

Glaswegian electronic project Atom Tree were the surprise cherry on the top of my last trip to the UK in October, brilliantly opening in their hometown for Glass Animals on the last UK date of their current European tour.

Having recently done some recording at Red Bull Studios in London, the trio – writer/producer/synth man Shaun Canning, singer Julie Knox and percussionist Mick Robertson – are now offering up one fruit of their labour from their time there as a free download. ‘Hearts’ is a great example of their ambient, electronic sound that uses vocals sparingly to incredible effect. Listen to and download the track for free below. Word on the street is that the session will result in a new EP to be released soon. We’ll definitely keep an eye out for it.
