(SXSW 2015 flavoured!) Video of the Moment #1743: SOAK

SOAK is the stage name of Derry singer/songwriter Bridie Monds-Watson, who’s already generated massive hype in Ireland. She’s about to make a big splash (no pun intended) as one of the Irish artists scheduled to perform at SXSW 2015.
You wouldn’t expect a skateboarding gal like her to be so softspoken on her records, but that’s just her style. Now signed to Rough Trade Records, she’s announced she’ll be releasing her debut album ‘Before We Forgot How to Dream’ through the Beggars offshoot on the 1st of June. ‘Sea Creatures’ is an older song of Bridie’s, having been released previously it as the title track of her highly acclaimed EP that was released in 2013.
Bridie is just one of six artists Steve Lamacq will be bringing with him to showcase at the BBC Introducing / PRS for Music Foundation night on Wednesday the 18th of March in Austin next month. This month, she has a series of six live – and free! – shows at skate parks, and she will also be touring the UK and Ireland in June; all her tour dates are listed here.
