Leading industry experts from Spotify, Deezer and DigMark are among the names appearing at The Great Escape 2015 convention in May.

Titled “Music Marketing Is Broken – Let’s Fix It”, the convention will be kickstarted by Spotify’s Director of Label Relations Will Hope, who will deliver a keynote on the factors that are driving streams in 2015 and offering tips on how labels can maximise plays on the platform. He will be joined by a panel of music marketers including Adam Cardew (Digital Director at Absolute), Leah Ellis (Head of UK PR at Warp Records) and Sammy Andrews (Head of Digital Marketing at Cooking Vinyl).

In the second keynote, Deezer’s Head of Editorial James Foley will discuss how digital platforms are now curators themselves, while Aileen Crowley from Nashville-based marketing agency DigMark will consider how labels can engage key influencers in the playlisting community. They will be joined by Francine Gorman, who will provide an insightful case study on the Nordic Playlist.

The third and final keynote at The Great Escape convention will look at how data from the live sector can be used to publicise club nights, gigs and festivals, with Ticketscript’s Shane Mansfield discussing analytics and offering tips on how the data can be used to sell shows. This keynote will also feature talks from Jen Long, Music Editor at DICE, and Paul Clement, cofounder at electronic/DJ Web site Resident Advisor.

To coincide with the unveiling of the line-up, The Great Escape also announced its biggest ever Lead Educational partnership with BIMM (British and Irish Modern Music Institute). This deal brings together Europe’s leading new music festival, attended by over 3,000 music industry delegates and 15,000 music fans, and the UK and Europe’s best-connected modern music college. Now in its 10th year, The Great Escape attracts 3,000 industry delegates each year who attend a series of insightful presentations, talks and panel discussions, debating with and learning from key voices in the music business community.

Delegate passes, which give additional access to all The Great Escape convention events and priority access to live shows, are still available at the discounted saver price of £175. For all our preview coverage of this year’s festival in Brighton, go here.
