Video of the Moment #1826: Stornoway

By on Tuesday, 16th June 2015 at 6:00 pm

Stornoway have a new video out this week for single ‘Man on Wire’, one of the most sweeping entries on their current third album ‘Bonxie’ out now on Cooking Vinyl. (Read my review of ‘Bonxie’ here.) Their previous promo for ‘Get Low’ featured geese trained by birders Lloyd and Rose Buck and the band enjoyed it so much, they returned to work with the Bucks for this new one, this time with a predatory bird…

In ‘Man on Wire’, the band from Oxford took to Nyland Hill in Somerset, which they described in an email to their mailing list subscribers as “just a couple of valleys away from Glastonbury”. Their ‘co-star’ in the new promo is a fetching young peregrine falcon named Moses. And keeping it in the Stornoway family, this video marks their first time working with director Susie Attwood, who when she’s not behind the camera plays violin at Stornoway’s gigs. If you’ve ever wanted to know what it’s like to fly, ‘Man on Wire’ is a stunning, beautifully shot video, and you can watch it below.

…and good news, American fans! ‘Bonxie’ sees its stateside release on 31 July. Read all of our past coverage on Stornoway through here.
