As if they predicted the kerfuffle with Back to the Future day last week and all this nostalgia about Marty McFly’s journey into a land of flying cars, Portland band YACHT proclaimed as the title of their new album earlier this month probably what everyone is really thinking about the Michael J. Fox franchise ‘I Thought the Future Would Be Cooler’. In the video, YACHT’s primary members Jona Bechtolt and Claire L. Evans poke fun at recent technologies that can’t hold a candle to our fanciful ideas of what we thought we’d have by the 21st century.
