Video of the Moment #1966: EL VY

By on Tuesday, 1st December 2015 at 6:00 pm

After an album and a single called ‘Return to the Moon’, it seems rather appropriate to me that EL VY – the pairing of the National‘s baritone Matt Berninger and Brent Knopf (Menomena, Ramona Falls) – have a song on their new album to give equal attention to the other major celestial body needed for our existence, the sun. Less frenetic than ‘Return to the Moon’, the time-lapse film style of the promo for ‘No Time to Crank the Sun’ is actually at odds with its relatively placid tempo. Little trivia tidbit: this video was filmed by Matt’s real-life actor/director brother Tom.

‘Return to the Moon’, the debut album from EL VY, is available now from 4AD. Want to have a listen to and watch of the lyric videos for ‘Need a Friend’ and ‘Silent Ivy Hotel’? You can here.
