Live Gig Video: Adam French performs stripped back version of ‘Euthanasia’ in Manchester

It’s funny how fate works in mysterious ways. Prior to the start of The Great Escape 2015 in Brighton last spring, late one night a girlfriend of mine ran into Adam French and his dad. The Cheshire-born singer/songwriter was celebrating in the seaside town, in an Irish pub of all places. Now signed to Virgin EMI, he’s all geared up for his first headline tour of the UK this month. It began last night in Leeds and continues tomorrow at a sold-out Communion show at London Social. (All the details of the tour are available in this previous ticket alert post.) French is purported to have a new EP out later this year too.
But I’m getting ahead of myself. Revealed yesterday is this live acoustic performance of French playing his track ‘Euthanasia’. Filmed in black and white in Hope Hill, Manchester, the performance has been stripped back of everything but his beautiful voice and equally beautiful black Epiphone guitar, making for a compelling, haunting listen.
