Video of the Moment #1988: Nina Nesbitt

Good news, Nesbians: your pop singer heroine Nina Nesbitt has a new EP up ahead. ‘Modern Love’ will be released the first week of February, and ahead of the EP’s release, she has revealed a single from the EP. And just as of a few days ago, ‘Chewing Gum’ now has its own promo video. Despite the song’s title, it’s not as innocent as it seems, as the lyric line from the chorus indicates: “I’m just chewing gum / until the flavour’s gone”. Shorn of her previous trademark long locks, a shorter coiffed Nesbitt stars in the primary character in the promo, in which she basically takes on the role of every love ’em and leave’ em guy you’ve ever known. Despite the disturbing frequency in which she changes partners, the video does a good job about making the whole story come full circle. Watch it below.
Nina Nesbitt’s ‘Modern Love’ EP will drop on the 5th of February on Island Records.
