(Charity and SXSW 2016 flavoured!) Video of the Moment #2032: Lissie

Hot on the heels of her new LP ‘My Wild West’, folk-rock singer Lissie is now offering up the video for album track ‘Daughters’, in honor of International Women’s Day on the 8th of March. Inspired by Liberian peace activist and Nobel Prize winner Leymah Gbowee, the song is particularly appropriate to the cause, and the new video highlights one of the challenges faced by women in developing countries, namely obtaining clean drinking water for themselves and their families. The songwriter is upping the ante by offering a free download of ‘Daughters’, with an invitation to make a “pay what you can” donation to charity: water in exchange. You can find more information, along with the free download link, on Lissie’s official Web site.
