Video of the Moment #2042: Edward Sharpe and the Magnetic Zeros

Edward Sharpe and the Magnetic Zeros‘ newest single is ‘No Love Like Yours’, and as the title suggests, it’s an emotional one. It’s the first new music that we’ve heard from the collective in some time, and our Steven reviewed the single in early February. For the promo for the single, actress Olivia Wilde (aka Dr. Hadley on House) took the director’s reins, filming it in the atmospheric environs of New Orleans, entirely with iPhones. The cold, unfeeling means is interesting, given the emotional content of the video, of which Hadley says:

I wanted to shoot it in an interesting and innovative way. I thought, let’s shoot it on an iPhone…I am particularly inspired by watching people walk around with devices, and how [they have] encouraged the average person to be more creative. The process of mourning in New Orleans is pretty different than in the rest of the American culture. The concept of the funeral as a celebration with music and dance is more present there. I’ve always been very inspired by that.

Watch the arresting new video below. ‘PersonA’, Edward Sharpe and the Magnetic Zeros’ new and third album on which ‘No Love Like Yours’ will appear on, is scheduled for release on the 15th of April via Community Music Group. For more on Edward Sharpe and the Magnetic Zeros on TGTF, go here.
