Video of the Moment #2198: Meadowlark

Meadowlark – the combined musical talents of Welshwoman Kate McGill and director Daniel Broadley – have announced they will be releasing their debut album in 2017 on Believe Recordings. This follows the release of two previous standalone singles ‘Paraffin’ and ‘Quicksand’, and they’ve got a new single and video to share with us.
‘Headlights’ showcases the Bristol band’s ability to write engaging and memorable pop melodies, and it’s a great harbinger of things to come. Watch the video below, which was directed by Broadley in one continuous take. Of the promo, Broadley says, “The video for ‘Headlights’ began as a creative concept, a video shot all in one take, seamless and constantly in motion. The expressive dancing explores many of the complex emotions that fuel a relationship, the passion, the rage, the bubble that encapsulates both bodies. Meanwhile Kate and myself weave in and out of this energetic routine, narrating the story from the lyrics whilst remaining invisible to the characters.”
Meadowlark begin their support slot with Aquila next week at Leeds Wardrobe; all their upcoming tour dates can be found on their Web site.
