Video of the Moment #2427: Ardyn

Given how many times we tend to hear about competing artists dissing each other and having beefs, it’s nice to hear a positive story about collaborators staying friends and being involved with each other’s music. This has certainly happened between Gloucestershire sibling duo Ardyn, fraternal twins Rob and Katy Pearson, and their professional relationship with Tourist, aka London electronic artist and producer William Phillips. Earlier this summer, they unveiled their collaboration on Phillips’ ‘We Stayed Up All Night’, which you can read about through here.
It’s Ardyn’s turn now. For their new track ‘Throwing Stones’, Phillips did the honours of producing the track. One of the obvious motifs in the animated promo are flying birds, which came from a much more sinister point of inspiration, as Kate Pearson explains:
‘Throwing Stones’ was inspired by feeling very disillusioned, in particular with the current state of politics and unrest in the world. With everything seemingly going a bit haywire, I felt I needed to put that into words. We’d also recently watched The Birds by Alfred Hitchcock which definitely stuck with me, so the song party draws from that film.
