Video of the Moment #2788: Tree House

London-based solo artist Will Fortna, working under the moniker Tree House, released his first music video last month, for a smooth, introspective song titled ‘Nonsense’. ‘Nonsense’ features as the opening track on Tree House’s recent EP ‘Into the Ocean’, which we reviewed here last September.

The visual treatment for ‘Nonsense’ is directed by Ella Margolin, whose interpretation is in sharp contrast to the lofty yet understated vibe of Fortna’s music. The video juxtaposes close up images of Fortna in solo performance with jarring background shots of a city that appears to be Los Angeles, reflecting the almost absurd duality between the city’s natural environment and its harsher, human-created side. Watch below, but if you’re sensitive, do be aware that the video contains strobing images.

Tree House’s EP ‘Into the Ocean’ is available now on London boutique label Memorials of Distinction. it can also be found on Bandcamp, just through here.
