Video of the Moment #2791: Field Music

In case you’ve been living under a rock, Sunderland’s Field Music released a new album this month. ‘Open Here’, the seventh studio LP from the incredibly prolific and never standing still Brewis Brothers, is now available from Memphis Industries. The first taster single from the new album, ‘Count It Up’, now has its own promo video. It stars taller brother David taking a long stroll around their hometown. A bit from David about the video, as told to NPR:
Sunderland has been a downtrodden place for quite a long time and people look for someone to blame. We initially talked about filming this video in parts of Sunderland that were either conspicuously run down or conspicuously well-to-do but once we started, we realised that the most interesting locations were the ones that had been up and down and sometimes were up and down at the same time; derelict factories that used to be the economic centre of the city or former shipyards that had been turned into apartments or business parks.
You can read more of David’s thoughts on this NPR post. Watch the Andy Martin-directed video for ‘Count It Up’ below. For more on Field Music on TGTF, follow this link.
