Video of the Moment #2828: The Flaming Lips

In case you’re living under a rock, or you’re like me and don’t covet vinyl, you may have missed that this past Saturday was the annual Record Store Day. The Flaming Lips are perennial nonconformists, so it makes sense that for Record Store Day, they would release something weird. Depending on where you stand with Wayne Coyne and co., you might think it’s quite wonderful. The limited edition 7″ vinyl single of ‘The Story of Yum Yum and Dragon’, backed by ‘Beer in Your Ear’, actually contains the alcoholic beverage. Neither the band nor we here at TGTF recommend you breaking open your vinyl. Besides, why would you when there are so few copies available?
Rest assured, Dogfish Head Alehouse partnered with the Oklahomans to produce Dragons & Yum Yums, a beer much more easily consumed by the can or bottle. For those more interested in the actual music and/or anyone who’s against beer, you can watch the chilly video for ‘The Story of Yum Yum and Dragon’ below.
