Video of the Moment #2844: Friendly Fires

Ten years ago, Friendly Fires were my favourite band of the moment. I was more than a little obsessed with them. I’d consider myself a connoisseur of their music. So when their newest single ‘Love Like Waves’ surfaced a while back and I wasn’t enthusiastic about it, it felt like someone had popped my excitement balloon on them. (Read my review of the song through here.) The promo video for the song released yesterday does its best to further hype up the St. Albans’ trio’s new material. Directed by the famed Giorgio Testi on the island of Favignana earlier this month, it’s a great study of youth and hedonism, capped off with the band’s frontman Ed Macfarlane giving it his all in the middle of an appreciative, dancing crowd in a club. Watch the video for ‘Love Like Waves’, out now on Polydor Records, below. No word yet on an upcoming album, but there’s got to be one in the pipeline, surely? For all of our past coverage on Friendly Fires here on TGTF, come through.
