Video of the Moment #2242: Arrows of Love

By on Tuesday, 13th December 2016 at 6:00 pm

Last Friday, Arrows of Love released a new single. ‘Beast’, out now on Tape Records, is as formidable as they come. However trust the punk / art rock collective’s frontwoman Nima, who tells it like it is, describing the accompanying promo to the song this way:

The footage is from an old 70’s recording of an Iranian Dervish dancing around the desert in his stone garden. We fell in love with this guy. It was amazing watching how his mystic dance went so perfectly alongside this music, each section almost perfectly choreographed, across the decades in a way he would never have known. If we were getting deep we could talk about connections thru time and space, and the one-ness of it all. But we won’t. It’s just a video man.

The single has been released ahead of their sophomore album ‘PRODUCT’, whose public unveiling is yet to be seen. Seeing that the LP’s making was funded by the prestigious PRS Foundation Momentum Music Fund, we’re definitely on the edge of our seats for it. Watch the video for ‘Beast’ below. Video of the Moment #2107: Arrows of Love

By on Thursday, 2nd June 2016 at 6:00 pm

Punky art-rock collective Arrows of Love are gearing up to release their second album, the follow-up to their debut ‘Everything’s F*cked’ on 1-2-3-4 Records. ‘PRODUCT’ has the distinction of having been funded by the prestigious PRS Foundation Momentum Music Fund, and now they’re ready to unveil the first taster from the sophomore effort.

‘Toad’ is out now on Tape Records and on limited edition vinyl and tape formats on Strong Island Recordings. The single is loud and uncompromising, and the accompanying promo video is as chaotic as their sound is. Watch and listen to ‘Toad’ below. Live Gig Video: Arrows of Love performing at London Shapes in March 2015

By on Wednesday, 15th July 2015 at 4:00 pm

Down and dirty riot-punk band Arrows of Love have released this week a live performance video for your watching enjoyment. Back in March around the time they were tooling around Austin to showcase at SXSW 2015, wowing the stateside crowd, they also managed to fit in a series of UK dates, including a date at London Hackney Shapes. The video below lets you in on their sweaty, in your face live show experience.

Arrows of Love have announced an intimate show at London Camden Lock Tavern on the 1st of August where they will be showcasing new material. This gig will be followed by two more shows in the capital in the following weeks on the 20th of August and the 10th of September, but the details of these secret shows are yet to be announced. Stay tuned. For past coverage of Arrows of Love on TGTF, head this way.

(SXSW 2015 flavoured!) MP3 of the Day #873 (and more!): Arrows of Love

By on Friday, 13th March 2015 at 10:00 am

I have to admit, the grunge-y, dark sound of Arrows of Love isn’t usually my thing at all. But there is something strangely hypnotic about their new song ‘Pretend Friends’, which they’re giving away now ahead of showcasing at SXSW 2015 next week in Austin (see appearances listed below). Have a watch of their genuinely eerie promo video for the song (it was done by Skogr, who has also worked with Fat White Family, so it kind of makes sense). If you enjoy it, you can grab the song from Soundcloud for absolutely nothing. Happy Friday!

Thursday 19/3 – Parish Underground, 11:30 PM
Friday 20/3 – 720 Club, 12:00 AM
Saturday 21/3 – British Music Embassy @ Latitude 30, 4:40 PM
