As a Christmas gift to their fans, Muse have revealed this rare performance of their ‘Origins of Symmetry’ bonus track ‘Futurism’, played at a show in August 2013 at Zepp in Tokyo, Japan. Up to this point, it had been some 10 years since it last had a public airing. It was announced previously that the entire gig at Zepp had been filmed, so Musers can expect a live DVD sometime in the future. For now though, watch the spectacle that is Muse live below. You can also download the performance video from this handy link as well.
As many of you know, I am a sharer, especially when it comes to spreading the word on bands on love. It sucks when you live far away and/or in another country where your favourite bands are playing. With that, I bring you live videos from the DC show: the socially conscious ‘Violence Out Tonight’ from second album ‘Life is Elsewhere’ and debut LP crowd pleaser ‘Joanna’. Enjoy them both below. Ah, memories!

London by way of New Zealand band Melic have released this energetic live video of their performing ‘No Escape’ at their album launch party at London Bush Hall back in the summer. (Our Ben reported from the show, and you can read his thoughts on the night here.)

Stephen Black, beloved to many people including yours truly under his stage name Sweet Baboo, appeared at this summer’s Green Man Festival. If summer is feeling as far away to you as it does to me at the moment – I mean, come on, you walk into shops now and they’ve got Santas and Christmas ornaments on display, it’s ridiculous – this video from August will do you a world of good. Black performing the ultra sweet ‘Motorhome’? Yes, please. (It reminds me of my Scottish holiday in May when I saw the man at the famous King Tut’s of Glasgow and met him as well. Ah, the memories.) Watch it below.
Just 2 months after the release of ‘Life is Elsewhere’ on American indie Dualtone Records, they’re coming back this way to America in a couple days, and I couldn’t be happier for them. (Admittedly, I’m just sad they can’t come to Washington again!) Here is live video they’ve shared of their time visiting with Relix while in the Big Apple. Performing ‘Jennifer’ in a water heater shack on a rooftop never sounded so good. Watch the video below.

New Zealand borne, London based band Melic released their album ‘An Hour to Anywhere’ earlier this year, having a raucous album launch party for it in August at London Bush Hall. Well, ladies and gentlemen, have we a treat for you. The Live Sessions filmed the group playing single ‘Ting Tong’, and we’re sharing it with you this afternoon. Watch it below.
