(SXSW 2016 flavoured!) Video of the Moment #2015: DMA’s

By on Tuesday, 16th February 2016 at 6:00 pm

Along with many other rousing, talented acts from Oz, Sydney trio DMA’s will be touching down in Austin next month for SXSW 2016. The group are a true testament of not only the sheer power of music, but also its reach: many compare their sound to the greats of ’90s Britpop, particularly very early Oasis, saying singer Tommy O’Dell sounds like a pre-overly nicotine-filled Liam Gallagher. Early last year before the boys headed to The Great Escape 2015, the younger Gallagher had threatened to boo them at New York City’s Governor’s Ball, so clearly they’ve touched a nerve. That’s the kind of rock star diva nerve that makes music editors like me rub our hands together evilly because, well, those kind of divas deserve to be made uncomfortable!

‘Hills End’, the trio’s debut album, will be released on the 26th of February on Mom+Pop and is available to preorder now. Ahead of their appearance not only at SXSW but also at Coachella in April, have a listen to and a watch of the promo video to this album cut, ‘Too Soon’.
