The Dykeenies / March 2009 UK Tour

By on Friday, 26th December 2008 at 3:44 pm

The DykeeniesI’d heard friends rave about the Dykeenies befor, but had never really listened to them before until today. With a bit of time on my hands, I checked them out this afternoon and was mightily impressed.

They’re a five-pronged sensory assault of sex, synths and glamour with hooks so monumental they could be used to mount the scalps of lesser peers onto their living room wall. Yes, really that good. Pop punk at it’s best, really catchy, feelgood and enjoyable.

Aaaand to top it all off they’re on tour in March around the UK – tickets are on sale for all dates now. Tickets are £7 for all English dates except London which is £9, and £9.50 for Scottish dates

Morrissey / May 2009 UK Tour

By on Monday, 8th December 2008 at 3:52 pm

Morrissey has announced a full 12 date UK tour next May playing some more interesting locations around the UK.

The living legend is including two London shows in his tour, playing the Brixton Academy and the Mile End Troxy Ballroom, a venue I haven’t come across before and one that sounds amazing from what I’ve read.

The tour is in support of his new album, Years of Refusal, which is due out in early 2009.

NME is reporting that tickets go on sale on Friday, (December 12) at 10am, though if that is true I have no idea.

Monday 4th May 2009 – Stirling Albert Hall
Tuesday 5th May 2009 – Dundee Caird Hall
Thursday 7th May 2009 – Glasgow Barrowland
Sunday 10th May 2009 – Liverpool Empire

Monday 25th May 2009 – Salisbury City Hall
Tuesday 26th May 2009 – London Mile End Troxy Ballroom
