Video of the Moment #2228: Factory Floor

By on Tuesday, 22nd November 2016 at 6:00 pm

Factory Floor, now a duo comprised of Gabriel Gurnsey and Nikki Colk, released their second album ’25 25′ earlier this year. It’s the follow-up to their self-titled debut album released in 2012 on DFA Records and Rough Trade Records. A forested area at the English/Welsh border seems like a strange place to film an electronic music video. However, the promo for ‘Wave’, which as a song has been made purposefully abstract, is proof that that the marketing of electronic music knows no bounds. Watch it below. You can grab Factory Floor’s ’25 25′ for your very own now from DFA Records; have a listen to it first in full on their Bandcamp. TGTF’s limited past archive on the group is through here.

MP3 of the Day #786: Factory Floor

By on Thursday, 3rd October 2013 at 10:00 am

London’s Factory Floor released their self-titled debut album on the legendary DFA Records in early September. Rolling Stone is giving away album track ‘Turn It Up’ for free, and you can get it here.

Video of the Moment #1092: Factory Floor

By on Sunday, 13th January 2013 at 10:00 am

London’s Factory Floor will be releasing their debut album through legendary DFA Records, and the first taster from the new LP is ‘Fall Back’, which is released tomorrow as a 7″ single. The song does their label proud, clocking in at over 8 and a half minutes, but I’m not too sure who the video will appeal to. Visually, it’s all abstract shapes and a scantily clad model, playing with her blonde hair and pausing to give (seemingly) meaningful glances at the camera. (Ugh.) Watch it below.

Live Gig Video: Factory Floor play ‘What You Say’ at Sub-Sonic Live launch party

By on Thursday, 9th February 2012 at 2:00 pm

Factory Floor was one of several big name performers at Fred Perry Subculture‘s opening launch party of Sub-Sonic Live last November (we gave away tickets to this event). If you are an unfortunate soul like myself and missed the event, we’ve got the band’s performance of ‘What You Say’ from the night. Enjoy it below.

WIN / Tickets to Fred Perry Subculture Sub-Sonic Live in London, 18th November 2011

By on Tuesday, 1st November 2011 at 11:00 am

Why yes. The folks at Fred Perry Subculture are getting into the gigging business – that is, the forward thinking clothing and cutting edge music finding company will be putting on monthly shows at London Garage. Split across three floors, each with their own diverse musical personality, this new night called Sub-Sonic Live will take place on the third Friday of each month, from 9.30 PM – 2.00 AM. Clearly, this is going to become one of the hottest nights out in the Capital.

Friday the 18th of November is the official launch night of Sub-Sonic Live and the line-up is something not to be missed. Check out the line-up, which includes rising stars Factory Floor:

Main Room – Bleeding Edge New Music
Factory Floor / + Very Special Guests / Hyetal
DJ sets from Rory Phillips (Durrr) and Dollop – until 3 AM
Legends Room – Heritage Music Reworked
Room curated by London music legends Phonica Records with an appearance by Fudge Fingas
Discovery Bar – Aural Discovery Room
Nathan Gregory Wilkins (History Clock) and friends

While Fred Perry Subculture is running a lucky draw on their official Web site for a lucky 250 winners, we have blagged a pair to give away to one lucky TGTF reader. Could that lucky reader be you? You won’t know unless you enter our contest below. Please note that you must be at least 18 years of age to win and attend this event. Give us your name and email address, and then tell us which artist on the Sub-Sonic Live launch night line-up you’re most keen on seeing. We’ll pick a winner at random from all the completed entries.

This contest is now closed.
