Live Gig Video: JAWS preview upcoming live shows with audience footage in ‘Cast’ promo

By on Tuesday, 11th April 2017 at 4:00 pm

Last November and December, Birmingham band JAWS embarked on a pretty big tour of the UK. Fast forward some 4 months later, and they’re ready to get back on the road again, but they’d like to share with you some footage of the carnage that went on at their shows the last time around. The culling together of these clips into one video makes sense, given that they released their second album ‘Simplicity’ (appropriate title for a lo-fi band, eh?) around the time of that aforementioned past UK tour. Watch the excited hordes and happy fans in this promo for ‘Cast’, a cut from ‘Simplicity’, which is out now. To read more of our coverage on JAWS, use his link.

Video of the Moment #1933: JAWS

By on Thursday, 15th October 2015 at 6:00 pm

Birmingham’s JAWS released their debut album ‘Be Slowly’ via Rattlepop about a year ago. We’re now in autumn 2015, talking about their sophomore follow-up. The band have released today the first taster from album #2, in the form of ‘What We Haven’t Got Yet’.

Continuing the lo-fi hangover I seem to be experiencing from my time at Norwich Sound and Vision late last week (coverage of that festival and conference is this way), the video for this new single is appropriately scuzzy and lo-fi to match the laddish nature of the song. Superimposing shots of the Simpsons and scantily clad models on top of their amps, why not? Watch it below.

Video of the Moment #1559: Jaws

By on Thursday, 26th June 2014 at 6:00 pm

One of the biggest buzz stories off the back of the Liverpool Sound City / Live at Leeds / Great Escape 2014 festival trifecta from May? A band from Brum called Jaws. The Birmingham quartet will be releasing their debut album ‘Be Slowly’ via Rattlepop on the 15th of September, but ahead of that, they’ve released a promo video for the title track. The promo is suitably lo-fi to match their music. Watch the video below.
