Video of the Moment #726: K’Naan

By on Sunday, 4th March 2012 at 10:00 am

Canadian/Somalian rapper K’Naan (pictured above and left with his buddies from Keane) has a new video out for ‘Is Anyone Out There?’ with fellow Canuck Nelly Furtado. The song itself is a bit existentialist, and it’s a bit sappy, but it sends the right kind of message. Which makes the ending all the more disappointing. And upsetting. I guess it’s trying to show “real life”? (Funny, my dad said the reason why mobile phones were banned in schools back when they first came out was because of the potential of what delinquent kids did with them to make money, and that’s what’s happening in here too.) Watch the video below.

Bloc Party Live Lounge

By on Thursday, 12th April 2007 at 12:02 pm

Yesterday Bloc Party did a Live Lounge session for Jo Whiley on Radio 1 – and how good is it? Just amazing cover of Nelly Furtado’s ‘Say It Right’, made their own. An accoustic version of “I Still Remember”, which if anything is a bit better than the full electro version of it.

Listen to it here until Next Tuesday, 17th April.
