A fan at the sold out Bombay Bicycle Club show at New York’s Webster Hall last week filmed some of the new material the band have been airing on their current North American tour. You can watch two of the songs, ‘It’s Alright Now’ and You Carry Me’, below. One thing that is clear from these videos? Lots of percussion on the new album. Enjoy.

Live Gig Video: LCD Soundsystem perform ‘Dance Yrself Clean’ at their final live show at Madison Square Garden in April 2012

By on Monday, 11th June 2012 at 4:00 pm

Influential DFA dance band LCD Soundsystem played their final show ever at New York City’s Madison Square in April 2011, and how convenient: it was all filmed not just for posterity but so it could be turned into a motion picture called ‘Shut Up and Play the Hits’. The film will be premiered at a select group of American movie theatres for one night only on the 18th of July but a worldwide release is expected in late summer. To get people excited about the film, they’ve released this performance of ‘Dance Yrself Clean’. Enjoy it below.

I feel pretty lucky I got to see them once at Roskilde 2 years ago; you can read about that experience here.

Live Gig Video: Lykke Li and Andrew Wyatt of Miike Snow perform at NYC’s Bowery Hotel

By on Wednesday, 2nd May 2012 at 4:00 pm

Thanks to a heads-up from the woman herself, Lykke Li was filmed recently performing a brand new song at the Bowery Hotel in New York City. The impromptu performance, which also included Andrew Wyatt of Miike Snow playing in the background, was part of the launch new Swedish label/collective Ingrid. The video quality isn’t great, but it’s pretty cool Lykke Li was so willing to share a new song she’d written the night before in public.
