Live Gig Video: Fenech-Soler perform an acoustic version of single ‘Magnetic’ at Rockness 2013

By on Wednesday, 19th June 2013 at 4:00 pm

Earlier this month, Fenech-Soler found themselves at Inverness’ Rockness Festival recorded this acoustic version of forthcoming single ‘Magnetic’ for Off Guard Gigs. Beautiful. If this doesn’t get you excited about the release of their second album ‘Rituals’ on the 2nd of September, there is clearly something wrong with you. Or maybe you need to hear the single version? Then watch this previous Video of the Moment. Epic.

Grab the Sane Beats’ remix of the single from this previous MP3 of the Day post. The band go on tour in the UK and Ireland in November.

Nessie’s going to be rocking out this summer as Rockness is returning to the banks of Loch Ness this year with a killer line up.

From the 7th to the 9th of June, Clune Farm will be playing host to some of the hottest acts 2013 has to offer. The line-up includes some cracking bands and artists such as ska legends Madness, Bombay Bicycle Club and newly anointed BRIT winner Ben Howard. Alongside them will be the Rockness veterans Fatboy Slim and recently announced headliner Plan B.

As wonderful as these guys will make a sunny weekend in the most mysterious banks of Scotland, you could make your weekend even better if you head over to the festival’s competition for 4 days of VIP access here. It’s worth it for the luxury toilets.

Here’s the full line-up as it stands right now:
• Above and Beyond
• Alabama 3
• Alex Metric
Basement Jaxx (headliner)
• Ben Howard
• Bombay Bicycle Club
• Booka Shade
• Camera Obscura
• Carl Craig
• Ellie Goulding
Example (headliner)
• Fatboy Slim
• Futureheads
• Gary Beck
• Hand Bouffmyhre
• Harvey Mckay
• Jackmaster
• Jaguar Skills
• Jessie Ware
• Josh Wink
• Julio Bashmore
• Madeon
• Madness
• Mark Henning
• Matzo
• Netsky Live!
• Newton Faulkner
• Nic Fanciulli
• Pan-Pot
Plan B (headliner)
• Proxy
• Redlight
• Skream
• Steve Aoki
• The Maccabees
• The Temper Trap
• The Vaccines

This line up is a glorious melting pot of DJs (Fatboy Slim, Netsky, Jaguar Skills), rappers (Plan B, Example), indie bands (The Vaccines, TGTF favourites The Temper Trap) and indie acoustic solo acts (Ben Howard, Newton Faulkner) with something to please everyone.

Tickets to Rockness are going to set you back £139 for the 3 days and camping. For the rest of the ticket prices and to buy, head here.

Biffy Clyro and Mumford and Sons absolutely killed it last year, but with a line up like this, the Loch Ness monster will have to do something spectacular to stop Rockness 2013 outdoing it.

Yeah, yeah, we’ve all heard of Glastonbury: but have you heard of Rockness Festival? Started in 2006, this festival has been dubbed “the most beautiful festival in the world” and “the only festival with its own monster” because it takes place at yep, you guessed it, Loch Ness. (Or rather Clunes Farm, Dores, near Inverness, Scotland.) This year’s edition will go on 11-13 June and features the headliners dance DJ/producer Fatboy Slim, dub / house / electronica masters Leftfield. And in a stroke of booking genius, the festival will close out Sunday with a headlining doubleheader featuring American rockers the Strokes (in their first live appearance in the UK in 4 years, they are working on a new album) and Vampire Weekend (pictured above), hot on the heels of a sold-out UK tour and the recent release of their second album, ‘Contra’.

Other great acts so far announced include Doves, Ian Brown, Friendly Fires, French electronica artist Vitalic, Paris act Club 75 (making their UK live debut) and hip hop duo dan le sac Vs Scroobius Pip (of the current single ‘Get Better’). Radio1 has been announced as the official radio partner of this year’s festival, with the station’s DJs Annie Mac and Rob da Bank hosting their own tented stages. All in all, this sounds like it’s shaping up to be one of the most exciting of the smaller UK festivals!

Tickets range in price from £55 for a single Friday non-camping ticket to £180 for a 3-day VIP camping ticket. For more information on prices and where to buy your tickets, please visit the Rockness Festival Web site.

The current scheduled line-up as is available after the cut.
