(Live at Leeds and Liverpool Sound City 2014 flavoured!) Live Gig Video: Clean Bandit perform ‘Rather Be’ for Fred Perry Subculture

By on Wednesday, 29th January 2014 at 4:00 pm

Clean Bandit have been poking around for a couple of years, but most people have only heard of them recently, their single ‘Rather Be’ hitting the top of the UK charts this week. The four-piece fuse house rhythms with classical influences into a heady mix danceable by all, so it’s no wonder their latest single has skyrocketed up the charts.

Last month in London, Clean Bandit graced a Fred Perry Sub-Sonic Live bill, where they performed this rendition of ‘Rather Be’ committed to film. Watch it below. The band have already been announced as a band not to miss at both Live at Leeds 2014 and Liverpool Sound City 2014, taking place the first bank holiday weekend of May.

Live Gig Videos: Fred Perry Subculture featuring the Charlatans, Willy Mason and the Drums

By on Monday, 7th January 2013 at 4:00 pm

2012 marked the 60th anniversary of the Fred Perry brand and the relaunch of the Fred Perry Subculture Web site. The brand had a series of celebrations in honour of the anniversary last year but just because it’s 2013, it doesn’t mean the partying has stopped. They’ve provided us some great live videos from their birthday party in September 2012 at London Garage, starring the Charlatans (performing ‘The Only One I Know’), Willy Mason (playing ‘I Got Gold’ from his new album ‘Carry On’ released in December on Fiction Records) and the Drums (playing the fab ‘Days’ from 2011’s ‘Portamento’). Watch them all below.

Live Gig Videos: Fred Perry Subculture featuring Jake Bugg, Kyla La Grange and Wavves

By on Wednesday, 7th November 2012 at 4:00 pm

As part of the ongoing 60th anniversary celebration of the Fred Perry brand and the relaunch of the Fred Perry Subculture Web site, Subculture has offered up these fantastic live videos from the Dot to Dot Festival in May of some of the brightest stars in music right now.

The live video below from Jake Bugg, currently on tour in America with headliners Noel Gallagher’s High Flying Birds and Snow Patrol, will be familiar: it’s the song that broke him to the masses, ‘Lightning Bolt’. Kyla La Grange (pictured at top) is no stranger to TGTF either; we’ve got a video of her performing ‘To Be Torn’. And last but not least, we’ve also got live video of San Diego noise rock band Wavves playing their song ‘Bug’. Enjoy all of these videos below.

Live Gig Video: The Horrors perform ‘Changing the Rain’ for Subculture

By on Friday, 2nd March 2012 at 4:00 pm

Here’s something nice for a Friday afternoon. Courtesy of Fred Perry Subculture, we’ve got video of the Horrors performing ‘Changing the Rain’, from last year’s ‘Skying’ album, filmed in a sweaty, intimate club. Except you don’t actually have to be sweating and feeling like your space is being invaded, you can watch it in the comfort of your home. Watch it below.
