Laura Marling / March 2017 UK Tour

Laura Marling has announced the release of her sixth studio album ‘Semper Femina’ for the 10th of March next year, as well as a list of UK live dates to coincide with the album release. ‘Semper Femina’ follows Marling’s ‘Reversal of the Muse’ podcast series, which focused on femininity in creative endeavours, and her 2015 album ‘Short Movie’, which TGTF touched upon here and here.

Tickets for the following shows will be available for general sale this Friday, the 2nd of December. You can also buy tickets now with pre-orders of ‘Semper Femina’ on Marling’s official Web site. KT Tunstall / May 2017 UK Tour

Scottish singer/songwriter and now L.A. transplant KT Tunstall has announced a new UK tour for next spring. Tunstall just released her fifth studio album ‘KIN’ in September, out now on Virgin EMI. (Read Rebecca’s review of the artist’s LP through here.) She finished a tour of most larger markets of the UK 2 weeks ago. Admirably, Tunstall has announced another UK tour for next May, this time for different, mostly smaller towns in between her bigger stops the last time around. Big Thief / February 2017 UK Tour

Brooklyn singer/songwriter Adrianne Lenker and her partner in musical crime Buck Meek, better known collectively as Big Thief, have announced a list of UK tour dates for early next year. Their critically acclaimed debut album ‘Masterpiece’ was released back in May of this year on Saddle Creek Records. Below the tour date listing, you can watch Big Thief perform three songs from the record, ‘Masterpiece’, ‘Paul’ and ‘Lorraine’, as part of NPR’s Tiny Desk Concert series.

Oxfordshire singer/songwriter Lewis Watson has announced his new album ‘midnight’ will be released on the 3rd of March 2017 on Cooking Vinyl. To celebrate the forthcoming release, he has unveiled ‘little light’ in the form of a 360-degree video, which you can watch at the bottom of this post. He’s also announced a long list of live dates in the UK for the rest of this year and in March and April 2017 to follow the LP’s release in the new year. London folk rockers Skinny Lister are bringing their new album ‘The Devil, the Heart & the Fight’ back to the UK for a second round of headline dates next spring, following their sold out October headline tour and their current run of American live dates. ‘The Devil, the Heart & the Fight’ was released at the end of September on Xtra Mile Recordings. You can watch the promo video for the album’s latest single ‘Devil in Me’ at the bottom of this page.

Beans on Toast / November and December 2016 UK Tour

Later this week, Essex folk singer/songwriter Beans on Toast (known offstage as Jay McAllister) will close out 2016 with his annual winter tour of the UK. The tour centers around Beans on Toast’s forthcoming 8th album ‘A Spanner in the Works’ which will be released on the 1st of December via Xtra Mile Recordings. The album features an ode to the year almost-gone-by, simply titled ‘2016’. McAllister says of the track: “It might not be the cheeriest Beans on Toast song ever, but sadly it’s been that kind of year.” You can watch the promo video for ‘2016’ just below the tour date listing, along with the brand new video for album track ‘We Made It to the Waterfall’.

The Beans on Toast Winter 2016 tour will begin and end in London, with the final show billed as a “Big London Party” at Omeara, a new venue owned by Mumford and Sons‘ Ben Lovett. Tickets for the following shows are available now and selling quickly, according to Beans on Toast’s official Facebook.
