WIN / Weekend festival and camping tickets to Beat-Herder Festival 2016

By on Monday, 25th April 2016 at 10:00 am

We did it last year, so we’re gonna do it again! It’s festival time – or at least festival preparation time! – and thanks for our friends at the event, we’ll be giving away a pair of weekend tickets to Lancs festival Beat-Herder 2016 this very week. Suffice to say, we’re super stoked!

Beat-Herder Festival, a festival set in Sawley, Lancashire, takes place this summer in the all too idyllic confines of Dockber Farm. In the past decade, they’ve brought all manners of electronic, reggae, drum ‘n’ bass, folk, psych rock and anything in between to their delighted punters, and in its 11th year in 2016, they are bringing a whole new raftload of acts to the farm for this summer’s event, to take place 15-17 July 2016. For starters, Primal Scream (pictured at top) will be headlining the festival; Bobby Gillespie and co. released ‘Chaosmosis’, their 11th album, in March.

Other big names appearing include Miike Snow (having released newest album ‘iii’ last month too), German house duo Booka Shade, reggae artist Chronixx and Zincfence Redemption and ’70s singer/songwriter / folk legend Donovan, who will be celebrating the 50th anniversary of his chart-busting single ‘Sunshine Superman’ this year. (Yeah, that makes me feel old…) Further down the bill, you will recognise Clean Cut Kid, Formation and Haelos from our coverage of SXSW 2016, as well as Beans on Toast and Mr Scruff from other past features.

We’ve been kindly given a pair of weekend and camping tickets to Beat-Herder, plus car and camper van parking privileges, an incredible value of £345 before handling fees if you bought your tickets today. So what are you waiting for? Follow our instructions below and fill out the entry form for your chance to win festival and camping tickets for you and a guest.

First, give us your full name and email address. Second, tell us which act on the line-up you’re most excited to see at Beat-Herder this summer, and why. (We want to be sure you’re keen enough on coming along that you’ve taken the time to study the line-up poster, of course.) I’ll read through all the entries and choose the best one. Easy, yeah? Just be sure your entry is in to us before noon BST Wednesday 27 April, as that’s when we’re closing the contest to new entries. I will contact the winner by email before the week is up (the winner will need to confirm his/her availability to attend). Good luck!

The contest is now closed, and the winner has been contacted.

WIN / Weekend festival and camping tickets to Beat-Herder Festival 2015

By on Friday, 3rd July 2015 at 11:00 am

Following on from our ticket giveaway last month to Soundwave Croatia 2015, we’ve been offered another pair to another great music festival this summer, and we can’t wait to award them to a lucky TGTF reader!

Beat-herder Festival is a festival in Sawley, Lancashire, nestled in the idyllic confines of Dockber Farm. In the past 9 years, they’ve brought all manners of electronic, reggae, drum ‘n’ bass, folk, psych rock and anything in between to their delighted punters, and in its 10th year in 2015, they will be continuing that trend at the event taking place 17-19 July 2015. High up on this year’s bill are electro stalwarts Basement Jaxx (pictured at top), DJ Erol Alkan and Neil Barnes aka Leftfield (who has just released the amazing ‘Alternative Light Source’). For those of you who are more rock inclined, ’90s indie rockers The Levellers will raise a smile, as will Martha Reeves and the Vandellas for those of you nostalgic for a bit of ’60s doo wop (and let’s face it, their song ‘(Love is Like a) Heat Wave’ would be really appropriate right about now).

For this contest, we’ve been given a pair of weekend and camping tickets, which would set you back about £295 before fees if you bought the tickets today from Ticketline. So this is a very sweet prize. And I bet you’re wondering, how do I get my little mitts on these tickets? Stay calm and follow all the directions as outlined below!

First, we’d like you to please give us your full name and email address. Second, tell us which act on the line-up you’re most excited to see at Beat-Herder, and why. (We want to be sure you’re keen enough on coming along that you’ve taken the time to study the line-up poster, naturally!) I’ll have read through all the entries and choose the best one. This is almost too easy, yeah? Just be sure your entry is in to us before noontime Monday 6 July, as that’s when we’re closing the contest. Good luck!

Please note: this contest is only for tickets for entrance to the festival and does not include travel or accommodation, though the camping fee will be included. So please only enter if you will be able to make your own to the festival site if you win. For a feel of what Beat-Herder has to offer, watch the promotional video from 2014 under the entry form.

This contest is now closed. The winner will be contacted by email.

WIN / Festival tickets to Soundwave Croatia 2015

One of the best things I found about Europe in the summer is that there are music festivals happening everywhere. And I mean everywhere! Soundwave Croatia, held on a site called The Garden in Tisno on the Dalmatian Coast of Croatia, offers something a bit different from the summer UK festivals. Not only is it by the seaside, but the probability of your time at the festival being sunny, dry and warm is much higher than what you might encounter in Britain (read: you don’t need to pack wellies or jumpers, which is always an amazing thing in my book after getting drenched the first day of the Great Escape 2015).

Musically, it’s always got a little bit of something for everyone, and this year is no exception: Jay Electronica will be headlining the 2015 event taking place the 6th to the 10th of August, joined by names such as Detroit hip hop act Slum Village, tea-drinking Mancunian DJ and producer Mr Scruff, legendary drum ‘n’ bass musician and producer LJT Bukem and Suffolk soul singer Alice Russell, just to name a few of the other stars filling the top end of the festival bill. Sun, sea, fabulous music…sounds pretty great, doesn’t it? Well, the amazingness doesn’t stop there here on TGTF.

The kind organisers of Soundwave Croatia have been absolutely lovely and given us a pair of tickets to this fantastic festival to give away to a lucky TGTF reader! If you went and bought a pair of tickets to Soundwave today, that would set you back £265, including fees. I’m gonna bet you’re keen on surprising your partner or your best mate with a brilliant experience this summer, and I’m going to make it really easy for you to enter for your chance to win too.

First, please give us your name and email address. Second, tell us who you’d like to surprise with this pair of Soundwave Croatia tickets and why. I’ll have read through all the entries and choose the best appeal. Easy, yes? Just be sure your entry is in to us before noontime Thursday 11 June. Good luck!

Please note: this contest is only for tickets for entrance to the festival and does not include travel or accommodation. So please only enter if you will be able to make your own to the festival site if you win. If you’d rather buy your festival tickets to Soundwave Croatia 2015, we welcome you to visit the official festival Web site to do so. Under the form, you can watch the teaser video from the festival that shows you just the kind of fab time you’ll be having if you win. So get those entries in!

This contest is now closed. The winner will be contacted by email soon.
