Yeah Yeah Yeahs have released a this video for ‘Despair’, from their current album ‘Mosquito’. (Yeah, you know, the one. With the screaming baby and the scary-looking bug on top.) It starts with a mirrorball – always a good start in my book – and Karen O goes blonde and is dressed vaguely Warhol-esque in a yellow suit. Watch the video below.

The video for ‘Sacrilege’ by Yeah Yeah Yeahss stars Lily Cole and seemed entirely inappropriate to post during Easter weekend proper so…there you have it. Watch it below. The single features on the band’s forthcoming album ‘Mosquito’, which will drop on the 15th of April on Polydor.
The band are playing a couple shows in England in May.

For May, they’ve announced two regular headline dates and a headline and curation slot at I’ll Be Your Mirror in London as well. Tickets are on sale tomorrow, Thursday the 31st of January, at 9 AM.

Thursday 2nd May 2013 – Leeds Academy
Saturday 4th May 2013 – London Alexandra Palace (I’ll Be Your Mirror show)

Maps by the Yeah Yeah Yeahs is one of my all time favourite songs. Think yearning love song mixed with the ever great Karen O going ever so slightly overboard with the emotion.
Then I found (linked from Lightspeed Champion’s Myspace bulletin last week) this amazing take on it by five amazing people who have done it completely acapella, and it sounds ace. Granted, they haven’t quite got Karen O’s quavering voice, but everything sounds ace, even better considering how sparse it is.
